With many offices closing due to the Corona Virus pandemic, A LOT of people area working from home!
We have come up with some quick tips to make sure that your time working from home is productive and focused.
If this is your first time working from home and you’re unsure of how to proceed, the first thing you need to do is designate a work area. Having a space to sit down at and know that is where you will be working is satisfying and gets your mind focused.
This word appears on several Access Talent blogs which just proves how important it is. It’s easy to stay at home and not speak to anyone for hours. This can be a fast-tracked way to losing sight of the tasks you need to complete so, COMMUNICATE. Have regular calls with your colleagues and manager to make sure you’re all on the same page.
It can be really easy to get distracted by things around the house, the television, washing etc! So, it’s imperative that you set out some working hours and stick to them as best you can.
There is nothing that sets you up better for the day than getting dressed. If you’re dressed, you’re more likely to get things done compared to staying in your PJs in front of the television.
One of the most important things to do while working from home. Don’t be worried about if you’re doing enough work because the longer you stare at the screen, the less productive you you’ll become. Take the normal number of breaks that you would in the office, go for a walk on your lunch break etc.
Staying active rather than sitting in one spot all day long is essential. Of course, we are aware of the current constrictions on leaving the house so, why not try a quick exercise video – Joe Wicks PE live sessions are on every weekday and only take half an hour! Join in with anyone else that is in the house!
Another easy thing to do is binge eat while you’re at home. Whether we like it or not, we eat more junk at home! Remember, food is fuel! Eating high-quality foods that contain lots of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants nourishes the brain.
A helpful way to stay focused while working from home is to schedule tasks for yourself. Having set tasks will make it easier to achieve a good work rate and the feeling of achievement amongst all the distractions of home, is a great feeling.
Working from home is a great time to figure out, what hours of the day, you’re most productive. If you’ve got a set of tasks to complete, make sure you align the more in-depth tasks with the times you’re alert and productive!
The last of our tips for this blog! Stay positive! We know it’s trying times so we all need to look out for each other and stay as positive as we can!
