It's easier said than done but here are a few simple tips to help keep your interview nerves at bay.
1. Be prepared
Confidence increases when you know your stuff, refresh your memory on your cv details and research the interviewers and company.
2. Listening is key!
Trying to listen to your interviewer's questions and thinking about what to say next is one of the main battles we have in our heads during an interview. Just take your time and answer as well as you can.
3. Do not forget to breathe.
The clammy feeling you get because you are squeezing your hands so tight, the pain in your stomach from the nerves - TAKE A BREATH. In through the nose and out through the mouth.
4. Be confident.
I know it sounds simple but you know why you're there, your CV has been weeded out from hundreds of others. Show your interviewer why they need you!
5. Be yourself.
To be yourself is one of the hardest things to do but it really helps to overcome nerves. Once you have mastered being yourself, it's much easier to relax and let your confidence shine through.
